Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes first achieved prominence in the mid-1970s, emerging from the same New Jersey Shore music scene as Bruce Springsteen. With their classic blend of hard-core R&B and street-level rock, molten grooves, soulful guitar licks and blistering horn section, Johnny and his Jukes continue to put their unique stamp on the Jersey Shore sound, while recalling the glory years of Otis Redding and similar Stax Records titans.

It’s difficult to impart the roots-steeped, road-trippin’ essence of Adam Ezra into a single word, but Adam nonetheless keeps one in mind as something of a mantra: community. “I’ve always kind of fancied myself as a folk musician and songwriter,” Ezra says. “I love singer-songwriter writing and I love songs that have story and content and meaning to them. But I’ve always been inspired by bands that created a community through the music they played on stage, that also translated into an infectious feeling off stage. I loved that and wanted to create that.”
