For over 20 years, Slaid Cleaves has spun stories with a novelist’s eye and a poet’s heart. Cleaves, who grew up in Maine and currently lives near Austin, TX, is rootsy singer and songwriter whos made his bed in the folk world. In 1992, Slaid won the New Folk award at the Kerrville Folk Festival (previously awarded to Nanci Griffith, Robert Earl Keen, Steve Earle, Lyle Lovett & more).
