With wide-ranging compositions such as “And Your Bird Can Sing,” “Here, There, and Everywhere,” “Eleanor Rigby,” Tomorrow Never Knows,” “Doctor Robert,” Taxman” and “For No One,” the Beatles’ landmark seventh album Revolver is considered by music critics and Beatle aficionados alike to be its very best.
The band entered 1966 fully engaged with the counterculture, and the album drew inspiration from broken relationships, LSD, Indian music, Motown, Hitchcock films and more, leading at least one distraught fan of their early, mop-top output to write of it as “the end of the Beatles as we knew them, before they went stark raving mad.” These shows will mark the twelve-piece Shabby Road Orchestra’s first-ever performances of Revolver. They will be joined by Minneapolis sitarist Mark Ilaug and return for a second set of iconic songs and deep cuts from the band’s final five albums.
