World-class Steinway Artist Nachito Herrera returns to his musical home! Here, he presents a special show titled “The Last of the 50s” to celebrate his upcoming sixtieth birthday. Expect music from all over the world, including of course music from his home country of Cuba! Also, he will play a wide range of songs, from classical to jazz to virtuosic Latin jazz.

Ignacio “Nachito” Herrera has garnered acclaim as one of the world’s greatest Cuban pianists. Also, he completely commands traditional classical and contemporary musical idioms. Further, Nachito brings astounding technique and natural talent to compose explosive music that overwhelms the Dakota with powerful energy.

Herrera stunned Cuban audiences at the age of 12, performing Rachmaninoff s Concerto No 2 with the Havana Symphony Orchestra. Later, he joined the famed Cubanismo as the lead pianist, arranger, and Musical Director. He was also a special guest for Afro-Cuban All Stars. Additionally, Nachito has played at many of the world’s finest concert halls and prestigious jazz festivals. He is the recipient of many regional and national awards. He was named City Pages’ Best Jazz Artist four times, and has Emmys, Grammys, Minnesota Music Awards, and the Immigrants of Distinction Award, among many others.
