For over four decades, the legendary O’Jays have given us the anthems that moved from soul to pop to funk to disco: “Love Train,” “For The Love of Money,” “Livin’ for the Weekend,” “Family Reunion,” “Stairway to Heaven,” “I Love Music,” “Cry Together…”

In this show led by Johnnie Brown with the great Sound of Philadelphia, they pay homage to the music of these cultural legends, with special performances by:

Len Jones (aka “Leaping Leonard Jones”): who travels and performs with the Grammy-award winning tour group, Sounds of Blackness.

Lamont Keten: singer, as part of MFellaz, the R&B / Neo Soul male group (KAJ Production) out of Minneapolis.

Chadwick “Niles” Phillips (the emcee for the evening) is the founder of “The Avant Garde” music and entertainment company that produces concerts featuring Twin Cities artists of color within the  Neo-Soul/R&B artists, poets, conscious hip-hop artist, live instrumentalists and visual artists. The program is made to carry on the tradition of great black artists throughout history.
