Since its inception, the JazzMN Orchestra has presented over eighty concerts in its main series. Also, many additional performances at festivals around the Twin Cities. The music performed by the JazzMN Orchestra spans from the beginnings of jazz to contemporary works by today’s composers. The Orchestra has featured international jazz artists like Randy Brecker, Kurt Elling, Mike Stern, Arturo Sandoval, Gordon Goodwin, Phil Woods, Nicholas Payton and Paquito D’Rivera.

Morgan James is a classically trained vocalist, Broadway veteran and recording artist. 

Morgan recently premiered two new symphonic programs with maestro Ted Sperling. These include “Clouds in my Coffee: the trailblazing music of Joni Mitchell, Carole King and Carly Simon” and “Kodachrome”, celebrating Paul Simon. 

Ms. James is a frequent symphony pops soloist, whose appearances include San Francisco, Ravinia Festival, Philadelphia, Virginia, Wheeling, and Cleveland Pops. Also, Houston, Sun Valley Music Festival, American Pops Orchestra, Spokane, Detroit, Harrisburg, San Diego, Utah, Youngstown, and Fort Myers. Additionally, Kansas City, Charlotte, Allentown, East Lansing, Atlanta, Colorado and many more. 

On Broadway, Morgan has appeared in five Original Broadway Casts. She was in Motown: The MusicalGodspellWonderlandThe Addams Family and Kristin Chenoweth’s For The Girls. Further, with viral sensation Postmodern Jukebox and her own channel, her videos on YouTube have garnered over 300 million views. 

As a recording artist, Ms. James released her fifth studio album of original soul music, 2023’s Nobody’s Fool. Also, she released a live album from Antone’s in Austin, Texas. Her music is available on all streaming platforms.
