“A true authentic New Orleans dance-hall style band.”
– New Orleans Traditional Jazz Quarterly

The Southside Aces Big Five will be joined by trombonist Eric Johnson to present a whole night of the 1920s and 30s music of Duke Ellington! The sounds of the Jazz Age wouldn’t be complete without that great Washingtonian and his men with names like Sonny, Cootie and Tricky; Bubber, Bigard and Blanton. You’ll hear “The Mooche,” “Mood Indigo,” and “The Jeep Is Jumping” among many others. As Duke was fond of saying, “If it sounds good, it IS good!”

Dan Eikmeier, Trumpet
Tony Balluff, Clarinet
Eric Johnson, Trombone
Rick Carlson, Piano
Josh Granowski, Bass
Dave Michael, Drums
