"This barn stomper of a single ["Bourbon Hound"] is soaked in Kentucky bluegrass vibes and the old school country aesthetic with some of the best harmonizing you can imagine."

Della Mae has a completely original style – sensitive yet assertive, intense yet playful, steeped in tradition yet undeniably current. Versatile instrumentalists and vocalists, they draw from a bottomless well of roots influences to create vibrant original music that conveys expansive musical vision. The songs on The Butcher Shoppe EP (released March 1, 2019) are all “fan favorites”. Della Mae invited original Della Mae guitarist Avril Smith, legendary banjo player Alison Brown, and rising star guitarist Molly Tuttle to join them in the studio.

Inspired in equal parts by John Hartford and Courtney Barnett, Rachel Baiman‘s influences span a wide range, but years spent playing traditional music shine through in the album’s firmly rooted sound. Baiman has been recording and touring internationally for the past 4 years with 10 String Symphony, and has played fiddle for numerous other artists including Kacey Musgraves and Winnipeg folk band, Oh My Darling.
- With timeless lyrical truth-telling and an unmistakably contemporary sensibility, Della Mae stand alongside such roots-conscious acts as the Avett Brothers, Punch Brothers, The Lumineers, and Hurray for the Riff Raff.
