Amazing Folk Songstress

“Shawn Colvin is a solo acoustic performer of stratospheric skill… here, the songs are infused with a direct clarity and beauty.” -No Depression

“Colvin still writes with fearless honesty and genuine insight.” -Austin Chronicle

Singer/songwriter Shawn Colvin has been the standard bearer for the folk movement since her Grammy Award winning debut album was released in 1989. While her name is synonymous with the mid-1990s Lilith Fair-era folk movement, her sound transcends easy categorization. Her clear, plaintive voice and thoughtful lyrics pick up where Joni Mitchell leaves off, creating songs that take the listener out of time and place.

“A songwriter of craft with a voice that has deepened in emotion as much as tone over the years.” — Sydney (Australia) Morning Herald

“Colvin’s voice is as lovely as ever, her lyrics crisply articulated against simple melodies.” — Washington Post

With Special Guest Kenny White

“I’d have to say that Kenny White has earned a place among my favorite singer/songwriters… and particularly, lyricists. As we say in the trade ‘he goes deep.’ A true wordsmith and musician who reveals a fine sense of humor, as well. Put on your headphones and listen carefully.” – David Crosby

Veteran singer-songwriter Kenny White has been a fixture on the New York folk and studio scene for many years. As a commercial writer, he has written and produced hundreds of TV and radio spots, working with artists like Gladys Knight, Linda Ronstadt, Dwight Yoakam and Ricky Skaggs, among others. His songs have appeared in several notable films, and he has contributed to recordings by Shawn Colvin and Marc Cohn. His latest recording, Comfort In the Static, is soulful singer-songwriting at its best; lush piano melodies combined with vulnerable vocals and smart, insightful lyrics.
