“…a soul full of zydeco passion with a flair for jazzy vocalese.” -Perfect Porridge
The Ryan Montbleau Band’s distinctive, long-fermenting blend of neo-folk, classic soul, and kick-out-the-jams Americana is timeless in its appeal. Their relentless touring schedule over the past decade has won them fans in every corner of the country. With new album Heavy On the Vine, these elements meet in an irresistible way.
Montbleau spent a number of years as an acoustic solo artist at the beginning of his career, traveling up and down the East coast. Growing up in Peabody, Massachusetts, he got his first guitar at age nine, but didn’t get the bug to become a serious player or writer till he was attending Villanova University, and then there was no looking back. His first album (the out-of-print Begin) was released in 2002, followed by the live Stages. Since expanding his ensemble in 2005, Montbleau and band have tirelessly toured the country, establishing a reputation as a formidable live act and expanding their stylistic palette.
