Wolfhoppers are a new orchestral rock ensemble based in Minneapolis. Born out of the Second-Hand Opera Artist Collective, bandleader Dave Afdahl teams up with Tim Binger (cello, accordion), Joe Finstrom (electric and upright bass), Andy Myers (drums, percussion) and Pat Dougherty (guitar, banjo) to create sweeping, epic music that is touching and dramatic. Afdahl is inspired by a wide array of folk-images and stories, including his family farm in Norway.
Their debut album, Cliffs, Caves, & The Fjørd Side, showcases rich thematic elements with organic and symphonic instrumentation. The album was recorded in various locations throughout the Twin Cities giving it a unique and diverse soundscape.
