Beautiful Original Pop
“Musically, I’m in love. His light, accessible, passionate sound is one that had me hitting the repeat button on one song for almost an hour.” -Rebecca Cicione, A & R Columbia Records
Twin Cities-based singer/songwriter Michael Shynes grew up in a small town in Minnesota, and he brings that sensibility to his original music. Shynes pairs his lithe tenor voice with his piano to create wonderful, intimate stories.
“He may be one of the most talented people I’ve ever met. The guy just keeps getting better and better.” -JustUsInMinnesota.com
In his brief tenure as a songwriter, Shynes has performed on some of the most recognizable stages in the Midwest (The Excel Energy Center, The Taste of Minnesota Mainstage, and Mississippi Music Fest to name a few). He has also shared the stage with countless national acts such as Eric Hutchinson, Tyler Hilton, Caleb Hawley, Kevin Daniel, and Soul Asylum.
“If you’re looking for a new artist to get hooked on, Michael Shynes has got you covered.” -BackPocketBelievers.net
Californian Connie Lim has been writing songs and stories since she was very young, but only recently has she embraced the stage as her calling. From elementary to high school, Connie sang in the choir and various acapella groups. She was very active in school: from being student body president to homecoming queen. Connie’s future held many possibilities, and her parents had expectations for Connie to become a doctor or lawyer. So rather than pursuing her musical talents, Connie followed in her family’s footsteps and enrolled as a pre-med student at UC Berkley.
Using music as a way to take a break from her studies, she soon became immersed in writing and performing. She was even awarded best soloist in the International Competition of Collegiate Acappella, and “Cal Idol.” She started performing around the San Francisco area as much as she could, and her writing grew as well: she signed with Jay Frank’s Nashville-based record label, DigSin, and released her debut single in March, 2012.
