An accomplished pianist, Sandé got her start by winning the BBC’s Urban Music competition. After getting the attention of the UK music industry, she made a name for herself as a songwriter, penning tunes for Susan Boyle, Cheryl Cole, Tinie Tempah and many others. A song Emeli wrote and was featured on by rapper Chipmunk reached the Top Ten on the UK Singles Chart in 2010, which led to her being featured on two more Top Ten singles that year (Wiley’s “Never Be Your Woman” and Professor Green’s “Read All About It”).
