Out of this fertile music scene comes a vocalist who is reminding people what pop and soul music is all about. Alison Scott has a one in a million voice and remarkable songwriting skills, and is making believers out of everyone who hears her. Her live DVD, “Live at the Dakota,” was recorded here in May 2009 and released in September.
Alison’s third album, Chinese Whispers, was released in September 2010 to a packed house at the Fitzgerald Theater in St. Paul. The album is her most diverse to date: a mix of pop, rock, R&B, and a little taste of hip-hop; all sewn together with soul. Again in tow is Scott’s polished band, and it showcases her lush, amazing voice like never before.

Her debut album, released in 2006, featured pianist/vocalist Scott on original songs that revealed her penchant for 70’s pop, and showed a maturity in her songwriting that belied her age. Her second recording, released in 2008, covered songs by Randy Newman, Stevie Wonder, and Sonny and Cher, with a special tribute to Minnesota musicians Bob Dylan, Prince, and Paul Westerberg.
