“Acoustic and electric bass ace Jay Young goes from the mean and musical streets of Gary and Motown, to Hollywood and Neverland Ranch, as he hosts a surprise “Tribute to Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.” Young’s jazzed-up versions of “Talking Book” and “Thriller” numbers should be freewheeling and funky.” -Tom Surowicz

Jay Young is a monster on the bass, and one of the most versatile musicians to come out of the Twin Cities. He is a founding member of Moore By Four, and has performed regularly with Bruce Henry. He has also performed on the road with national artists and at home on countless gigs, as well as leading his own groups. His deep jazz roots, combined with a funky style and a flair for rock, find him well suited to lead a jazz-infused tribute to two of the most soulful and seminal artists to come out of Motown.
