Epstein.Nichols.Boettcher

Bryan Nichols, piano
Jeremy Boettcher, bass
Jay Epstein, drums

Minneapolis native Bryan Nichols moved back home a few years ago, and the scene hasn’t been the same since. While living in Chicago, he worked regularly with Von Freeman and Maurice Brown, among others. He was selected to be a resident at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as part of Betty Carter’s Jazz Ahead, a highly selective program for promising young jazz artists and composers. Nichols performs regularly in the metro area with a variety of different groups.

Jay Epstein has been a fixture on jazz stages for several years, performing in many different types of ensembles. He has been seen with Red Planet, Framework, Impulso, Broncovision, Christine Rosholt, and his own trio with Bill Carrothers and Anthony Cox.

Jeremy Boettcher is a soon to be very busy bass player. Boettcher recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire’s jazz program, and spent a year in New York working professionally. He has recently been seen playing with John Raymond as well as with this great trio.
