Patty Peterson with Fred Steele

Two members of Minnesota’s most musical families converge for one fantastic weekend of music!

Every time she performs at the Dakota Jazz Club & Restaurant Patty brings something different to the stage. This time she returns to the Dakota with very special guest Fred Steele.

Performing along with Patty and Fred are these nationally known musicians and friends:

Patty Peterson was born into the renowned musical Peterson Family which boasts mother Jeanne Arland Peterson, sister Linda Peterson, and three brothers, Billy Peterson, Ricky Peterson and Paul Peterson; all of whom are recording artists and involved in the international music scene. Patty began singing as a child at concerts and recording sessions, and today is an award winning vocalist both live and in studio for national recording artists and commercials.

Patty is a world class jazz/ R&B singer, a radio jazz show host on KBEM Jazz 88 in Minneapolis, is a mainstay in the radio jingle and voice over industry and now is forging a career on the national motivational speaker circuit. She has performed to sold out audiences all over the country, including nationally renowned jazz venues The Dakota Jazz Club and Restaurant in Minneapolis and The Jazz Bakery in Hollywood, California. Patty has seven Minnesota Music awards to her credit, has three solo recordings and will be soon releasing a 4th solo smooth jazz CD featuring David Hazeltine, Bobby Lyle, Sheila E. as well as Billy, Ricky and Paul Peterson.


Fred is a member of gospel legends The Steele Family, and has seen the world with his four siblings. Their touring show “The Gospel at Colonus” garnered superlative reviews everywhere it played, including Broadway. Fred’s own project, Mahalia, features him playing keyboards and singing six different characters, and has toured nationally as well. Fred has been active in commercial recording, finding employers like Levi’s and Wilson’s Leather, and is responsible for the biggest selling record on Target’s Lifescapes label, titled Gospel.

The room will be filled with jazz, funk, R&B and for sure some gospel. Make your reservations early!
