Late Night All-Stars

Revisiting the All-Star ensemble idea, we’ve thrown five players together who haven’t worked with each other before.

John Raymond (trumpet) is finishing his bachelor’s degree at UW-Eau Claire, and is busy as performer, composer, and arranger.  He is regularly seen at the Dakota with his group, the John Raymond Project, and with Nachito Hererra.

Chris Thomson (saxophones) is an accomplished composer and performer.  He is regularly seen around town in several instrumental combinations, including the Enormous Quartet, Bells and Whistles, Poutumns, and recording studios all over.  He also performs solo minimal acoustic/electric music of a very unique brand.

Zacc Harris (guitar) is a busy guitarist, composer and teacher in the metro area.  He is regularly seen at this club and others with the Atlantis Quartet, Monk In Motian, Counter Clock Wise, and others.

Jim Anton (bass) has appeared on dozens of records and hundreds of stages in the region, in pop, funk, and jazz groups.  Having spent time playing with groups as different as Eight Head, Greazy Meal, and Mandy Moore, Anton has served as Jonny Lang’s Musical Director since 2003.

Jay Epstein (drums) is a familiar face in any club that regularly books live music.  He is regularly seen with Red Planet, Framework, Christine Rosholt, and Bill Carrothers.
