Clayton Brothers

Bassist John Clayton is often compared to Ray
Brown in terms of sound, stage presence, and
professionalism. Along with brother Jeff on alto
and son Gerald on piano, with supporting members
Terrell Stafford on trumpet and Obed Calvaire on
drums, the Clayton Brothers are true patrons of
the traditional swing jazz they grew up on. Their
new project focuses on music by other musical
brothers: Nat and Julian “Cannonball” Adderley,
and Hank, Thad, and Elvin Jones.
